I like the Like-Button – like it too!

Dear readers,

I am very proud of what we have achieved at Siemens with our SiemensSocialNetwork / SSN, where I experience amazing reach of relevant audiences throughout the company.

However, comparing my networking experience on Twitter or LinkedIn I am missing interaction within our SSN.

This is why today I share my recommendation for the way underestimated, but highly valuable

–> LIKE BUTTON <–

What’s the value of klicking it?

1) show your appreciation

2) commit yourself to your interests and support opinions you share, while

3) shaping your profile

4) become visible, while

5) giving others a chance to know about your interests and

6) open the door for others to add you to their networks (i.e. by following)

7) unleash the power of networks to rate relevance of content.

Certainly there is many more aspects, such as the simple increase of fun for all envolved parties.

Like some more theory on Liking?

I am not a scientist, but for me, Liking is what brings Social Networks to life. Think of the real life alternative: In our every day face to face conversations with our colleagues and friends, we constantly give feedback – be it verbally, just by means of a confirming glance or phrases like „Hmm“/“Right“/“ok“ or whatever. Silence in contrast is a very unusual and even awkward form of response. So why should we stay silent and invisible after reading a post on social networks? We shouldn’t.

Liking makes the human value of social media.

Try liking now. You’ll like it, too ;).

Yours Ben

Note: I have also posted this article on Siemens Social Network.
